My VEEAM B&R is on a Windows 2012 R2 Machine VM on an ESX Infrastructure.
I want to know if It's better to use VEEAM with a repository on an ISCI Target directly attached to the VM or an ISCSI Target attached to the ESXI as a DATASTORE populate by a VMDK.
Best regards

Re: [Best Practice] ISCSI TARGET
Hello Mathieu and welcome to the community!
The first option is to be the choice because it`s not recommended to use virtual hard disk as backup repository.
Thanks!

Here is an existing topic that should answer why second option is not preferred > Don't Store Backups on VMFS...But why not?
