job stuck on Inventorying guest system

Hi,

Backing up one VM started failing on friday with error:

Code: Select all

Failed to prepare guest for hot backup. Error: Unable to register and start service. Attempt 10 of 10 Cannot register management service. Service name: [VeeamVssSupport]. Cannot create service. Machine: [myvm.mydomain.local]. Service name: [VeeamVssSupport]. Service binary path: [C:\Windows\VeeamVssSupport\VeeamGuestHelper.exe]. Service account: []. Cannot create service. Win32 error:The specified service has been marked for deletion. Code: 1072

When I try to retry the job, it stucks on

It's been stuck for 20mins now and counting.

Any ideas? Will open a case tomorrow, when back in office

Invetorying guest system took 28mins, now it's stuck on

Seems like the VeeamVssSupport service was corrupted.
Removed the service and deleted c:\windows\VeeamVssSupport folder and rebooted. Seems to be working now.
