Jobs missing
Hi Guys,
Not sure why but all of a sudden all my jobs have gone missing in the job section.
I have got lots of backup and replication jobs and i'm not sure why they have all gone missing all of a sudden.
Has anyone ever experienced this or knows how to fix this?

Re: Jobs missing
Christopher, what about SQL DB connectivity, could you verify whether it is available?

Re: Jobs missing
Hi, it looks to be ok i don't see any issues with connectivity. The service is up.
What do you recommend? I find it strange that its suddenly gone missing...........and it is very worrying aswell

Perhaps obvious, but my recommendation is to open a support case for investigation.

Re: Jobs missing
May be the SQL server was rolled to an earlier point in time?

Re: Jobs missing
This has happened to me twice now. I am on 6.0.0.181 (64bit)
It's when I've gone into 'Jobs' to check the progress of a slow running (intensive) job. The jobs can be there one moment, and gone the next. There is never a problem when going into Jobs when the server is idle, but once they've gone, they don't come back, even after rebooting the server.
Recreating the job and mapping the backup location gives the 'This location is already in use by xxxxxxx job...'

Re: Jobs missing
No - I was looking on here first, just to see if it was a known problem, before logging a call

Re: Jobs missing
There is a known UI bug that after certain sequence of actions, all backup jobs may start showing as SureBackup jobs instead. So, they do not actually disappear, but are just displayed incorrectly. Our support has a script that fixes this issue. I should probably include this in the Known Issues topic.

Re: Jobs missing
Had this myself just the other day, most of the jobs simply disappeared from the list for no good reason. I say 'most' as I did have two old jobs that I've disabled but not yet deleted, for recently decommissioned VMs, and these jobs remained in the list while the active scheduled jobs had disappeared.
Quick phonecall to Veeam to open a ticket, and a few minutes later (thanks to Zach) had a Powershell script to run to reset the jobs back from SureBackup jobs to normal backup jobs. All back now and running happily again.
Interesting to hear from Gostev that this is a known bug after running a 'certain sequence of actions'. I'm wondering now what I did to do this, as far as I know I've not used the UI for some time but maybe one of my colleages was poking around in my absence.
Also a little curious why the two unscheduled jobs remained in the list.

Re: Jobs missing
Hi
We seem to be having the same issue as well. We also just updated to the latest service pack (SP3) last week.
Logged with Veeam so we'll see what they come back with.
Checked our SQL server and the reporting shows the jobs are still in there and the SQL has an active connection to our Veeam box.
Possibly related to the bug that was mentioned??

I've encountered the same problem. All my jobs moved to Surebackup jobs and i can't do anything with them. Can i have the powershell script people are talking about?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Jobs missing
I have the same issue. All jobs moved to SureBackups, appear corrupt if I try to open their properties as they are. Just installed the latest Veeam v6 SP about 2 weeks ago.
Right in the last few days of tax season, so dozens of workers at 24/7 so not the best time to have backups and replication cease. Hoping the PowerShell script you describe will get it all fixed quickly and easily.

All Backup/Replica Jobs Removed
[merged]
This is the second time this has occurred...
The jobs will run fine for months, but today I opened Veeam to make a configuration change...all the jobs go missing. Last time this happened I recreated all of the jobs, but I don't want this to happen for a third time.
If I look under backups, all of my jobs are still there and it shows the creation time, etc. It shows the same for my Replica jobs under Replicas.
Where are my jobs going? Is there a way to re-import them? Can I create a new job and point it to the backup/replication files?
Thank you

Re: Jobs missing
Has this been added to the sticky 'known issues' thread yet? It's happened to us twice on different backup servers and Veeam CS have informed us it is a bug due to be fixed in the next patch. I'd be interested to know when that's coming out?
The solution which worked was provided by customer service, is as follows:
1. Make a backup of Veeam DB
2. Stop all Veeam services, open MS SQL Management Studio and execute this script against the Veeam DB:
Rerun the job to test.

There will be no next patch, but next release only - sometimes within 1 month from now.

Re: Jobs missing
Hi all. If someone have few jobs like me, I've solved the problem as follows:
1- Make a backup of Veeam DB
2- Open Veeam SQL DB with MS SQL Management Studio
3- Open dbo.BJobs table
4- Inside you will found the missed jobs. Set type field on 0
5- Yours jobs will apear at Veeam Jobs screen but you will need to reactivate "Run the job automatically" at the schedule tab and choose again the storage options

Re: Jobs missing
There is also a powershell script that will correct the Job options from your job logs so you do not have to re-do your settings.
