KB1999, I don't understand \Device\HarddiskVolume*

Post by GLM »

Hello,

I am trying to configure antivirus exclusions as per https://www.veeam.com/kb1999

Can someone explain me what \Device\HarddiskVolume* refers to?

Thank you in advance.

Regards.

Hello GLM.

I believe support team was referring here to the mount path to the volume you are backing up with VSS, I've asked to update this article. Thank you!

Hi Dima,

Thank you for your response.

I am surprised the list does not include SQL Server 2012 Backup and Data folders. I am in doubt now.
Also, .vmdk files are listed, but no .vhd and .vhdx. I am a little confused about that.

Thank you again.

Regards.

We will ask our support team to revisit this KB and make changes if necessary. Thanks!
