Leftover Backup Copy Hardened Job
I recently migrated my hardened repository over to a new repo/server. One of the original backup copy jobs had a retention/immutable period of 6 years. So under "Disk (Orphaned)" this is the only one left that hasn't been purged. However, due to this 6 year retention period I can't delete this from disk until 2030. Is there a way to purge/remove this? this is an old chain as I started a new chain for this job on the new server. If not, can I delete the old backup repository for this job? Or will it create problems?

Re: Leftover Backup Copy Hardened Job
Hello jbvabackup
If you want to get rid of the entire backup repository server and backup files, do the following:
1.) Remove the old backup from configuration: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
2.) Remove your repository from the backup server: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
3.) Remove the Linux server from the managed server list: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
4.) use any Linux tool or Linux installation ISO to format the volumes with the backup files.
If you need to keep your old repository, you have to remove the immutable flag from the backup file with root permissions directly on the hardened repository.
Then delete the backup files and rescan your repository.
Best,
Fabian
