License issue (upgrading to v5)

Post by JailBreak »

Hi

I have a costumer with license for 2 VMware server(2 CPUs each), and with a 2 years support(ends in 30-11-2012). I have donwload the new v5, and tried to upgrade from my 4.1 and use the existing license, and indicates that the license is expired. If the costumer has support for 2 years, this not include the new version of the Veeam Backup & Replication?

I know that now the license is not by CPU(like before), but now is CPU and cores. So this is why i cannot use the existing license to upgrade to v5?

Do I need to buy more licenses?

Thank You

You might want to read the licensing portion of the FAQ. I think you just need to request a new license file via the licensing portal. You can't use a 4.x license for 5.x, but a new license will be issued for "free" if you are under support.
