Hi all,
we want to replace our VBR server with a more powerfull machine. As also the servers to be protected will be upgraded and also the VM distribution will be totally different we want to start from scratch with the new one. On the other hand this emans that for a ceratin period of time we'll have two VBR servers running. What has to be done in order not to act against the license (VUL-licenses)?
BR

Re: License issue when replacing VBR server
Hi Frank
If you install a new VBR Server, you should install the enterprise manager to manage the licenses.
If both VBR Servers are protecting the same vm, then only a single license will be used for both vbr servers.
See more here.
If you create new vms to backup, then a new VUL will be needed. Old VUL licenses will be freed up 31 days after the last backup of a VM.
