Hi,
Is it possible to add Veeam B&R installations with both standard and enterprise license within Veeam Enterprise Manager?

Re: License question with Enterprise Manager
Stefan, you can specify only one license file in Enterprise Manager and it will be applied to all the added backup servers. Thanks.

Re: License question with Enterprise Manager
Thanks for your reply.
Our scenario at our customer:
HQ: 8CPU Enterprise
7 remote sites: 1CPU each, standard license
The customer wants to monitor (not manage) backups at one place, and enterprise manager seemed like a good app. What should we do to make this work? Upgrade the standard licenses to enterprise and combine the licenses?
Any other suggestions?
Regards
Stefan

Yes, that's the only possible way of server consolidation.stefanrade wrote:What should we do to make this work? Upgrade the standard licenses to enterprise and combine the licenses?

Re: License question with Enterprise Manager
Yes, but you cannot mix standard and enterprise license keys within the same Enterprise Manager.

[MERGED] Enterprise Manager and license files
Because of our mixed infrastructure we had a couple of Enterprise Managers running. We decided to merge them all to get one nice overview.
Our company had many types of Veeam implementations hence different licences as well. To name a few; datacenters, project sites, branch sites and even vessels.
Here's where we face a shortcoming of Enterprise Manager; we can only select one license to be pushed. They use a variety of license type, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus and the Availability Suite.
Now Veeam offers the possibility to merge licenses but it doesn't take in account that these licenses may have different retentions. Having different versions (8 and 9) doesn't help either. Also, each time we gain a new site I would need to obtain a new merged license file. I do love talking with support, but that would just take too much time and effort.
So here's my feature request; can Enterprise Manager be equipped with 'proper' license management features where I'm able to assign multiple license files to multiple server objects. This way I still have my single point of management for a wide array of locations.
I've created ticket 01762093 with support and they advised me to change the registry so the EM doesn't push the license to all the sites. I will implement this for the time being but it’s a workaround that causes me to manually update 100 sites once it's needed. It doesn't take care of the error I get about not having enough licenses either.

Hello Jochem,
I am in the same situation as you are. I agree with your feature request.
What's the registery key you need to change to workaround ?

Re: Enterprise Manager and license files
Hi,
Just facing the same issue here with Veeam B&R 9.5 Enterprise Manager.
We're an IT Service Provider managing multiple Veeam implementations among our customers.
For now it seems that it isn't possible to manage all those Veeam servers through the Enterprise Manager and still let each customer have it's own license.
Hopefully a feature will be added soon to manage and assign multiple licenses to specific servers!
Kind regards,
Jan

[MERGED] Enterprise Manager
Hi All,
A client of ours has a mixture of Enterprise and Enterprise Plus licenses. They would like to manage all servers from the one Enterprise Manager Console. Currently this is not possible, is there a plan to make this possible in the future?
Thanks
Ross

Thanks for your FR! If your client has Veeam ONE, then he can use this this product to monitor and report on different backup servers.

[MERGED] Enterprise Manager license handling
Hey guys,
short question in regards of Enterprise Manager...
Is it possible to add VBR Server with other license version, or will Enterprise Manager always update the license it has configured to the added VBR?
Background: We have a big location licensed with Enterprise Plus and a configured Enterprise Manager, and some small locations with standard license.
Would be nice to have them all in Enterprise Manager.
Cheers!

Re: Enterprise Manager and license files
No, currently this is not possible if license server is enabled on EM. There's, however, a registry value to prevent autoupdate of licenses.

Re: License question with Enterprise Manager
Hi, how do we get the information to the mentioned registry key to disable the "auto update " functionality of Enterprise Manager?
We have also the same Problem, diffrent licenses in our Sites but we want to monitor all Backup Server in the Enterprise Manager.
Thanks & best regards

[MERGED] Veeam Backup Enterprise Mananger with multiple Lice
Hey,
we would like to use the Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager, the problem we occurs is that we got multiple Licenses, VMware/HyperV and some standard/enterprise. We only can insert one license file, but we would like to insert multiple to reach all of our Veeam Backup & Replication Servers. Is there a way to do this?
Best wishes,
Mishuri

Hi,
Right now it's not possible, but your vote has been counted.
Please review existing discussion as it contains a few useful considerations. Thanks!

Hi Dominic, in this case you need to disable license auto-update in Enterprise Manager and set up different licenses in different Veeam B& instances.
