License Veeam B&R community edition
Dear,
currently we use community edition in one our location. We backup roughly 7 VMs on standalone ESXi host. We would like to benefit from copying/offloading backups to Amazon S3. What would be the cheapest way to do it? What license type we should take as an option? I know we need to aim for at least enterprise edition as both community and standard do not have this feature.

Hello,
Veeam Backup Essentials is the cheapest package with this capability:

You can contact any Veeam reseller partner, or use "Contact Sales" for further pricing information/advice.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: License Veeam B&R community edition
Hi, I'm joining this thread to renew the request, maybe something has changed in 4 years.
I'm a home user and I'm starting to use the Community Edition.
I would like to use an S3 bucket compatible with immutability features as a second repository.
What is the cheapest license that allows me to enable the function?
Are there any future plans to unlock the feature for the community edition as well?
Otherwise, keeping the community license, is there a way to use a cloud repository with Swift or FTP/SFTP protocols?
Thank you.

Hi. No changes, the previous answer is still valid: backup to object storage requires a paid license. Thanks

Re: License Veeam B&R community edition
Essentials is still the cheapest way to unlock all features, so nothing has changed here.
There might be other ways to upload backup files to cloud storage, but nothing officially supported. Please keep in kind that if you process backups roles outside of Veeam, you won't have any integrity or health checks. Therefore you might not notice any corrupted backups until you need to restore them.
Edit: You've been 1 minute faster, Anton
