Licensed Host Veeam Backup
Hello:
We have migrated the machine where we had VeeamBackup to a new host. In the VeeamBackup license, the old hosts still appear, and only the option to revoke, but the new hosts do not appear. How can we revoke these hosts and add new ones? If we revoke these hosts, can they be added back later?
Thanks for everything.

Re: Licensed Host Veeam Backup
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
As you talk about hosts, I assume that you are running on "socket licensing": new hosts appear as soon as machines are backed up from that host.
Old hosts can be revoked with the "revoke" button (looks similar for sockets)
Once you back up again from a host you revoked before, it will be visible in the license usage window again.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Licensed Host Veeam Backup
Hello!
So, if I make a backup of an esxi machine and another backup of another esxi machine, they should already appear in the license window, so I can add both esxi, 2 cpu each, right? Right now, I have revoked both old hosts and it shows empty.
Many thanks for the quick response.

Hello,
yes, you need to do backup to make them appear in the license window. Otherwise it would be unmaintainable for customers with hundreds or thousands of ESXi hosts.
Number of CPUs are calculated automatically based on what VMware VCenter / ESXi hosts say.

Re: Licensed Host Veeam Backup
Hello!
I have managed to get the esxi to appear, and I have already licensed them, although now it throws me this error:
Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Changed block tracking cannot be enabled: one or more snapshots present.
Preparing source proxy VMware Backup Proxy for disk Hard disk 2 [hotadd]
Preparing source proxy VMware Backup Proxy for disk Hard disk 1 [hotadd]
any idea?
Thanks for all!

Re: Licensed Host Veeam Backup
The changed block tracking feature cannot be enabled on a VM with a snapshot. So you can remove the VM snapshot for the initial run so that a job can enable CBT and then get back to using snapshots (if that's the goal).
As to the object reference issue, you'd better verify it with the support team.
Thanks!

Hello:
Thanks for the reply!
In any action I do, even a simple backup of a machine, it gives me the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". I have already written to support. Any more ideas? Thanks for everything.

Continue working with the support team, as technical issues cannot be resolved over forum correspondence. Thanks for understanding.
