If i have an ESXi server with 2 CPUs under 6 cores per CPU i need 2 x V-BCKUPVS-AP000-00-E correct for Veeam B&R Standard ?

The german sales dept said that we need 1 (one) V-BCKUPVS-AP000-00-E license, because we have less than 16 cores.

The resellser says, 1 license for servers up to 5 sockets.


Which answer is correct?

You need to license all source hosts physical CPUs. Provided that you have two physical sockets (less than 6 cores each), you will need to buy two Tier A standard licences for your Veeam B&R Standard.

If the licensing from veeam b&r is the following "Veeam Software is licensed per Socket (CPU Socket)" and i have 5 esx's with each 2 processor socket.
Do I have to by 10 licenses then?

Carol, if you are going to protect (backup/replicate/copy/..) VMs residing on all 5 hosts, then you need to purchase 10 licenses.
