Linking Jobs
Hello All,
We've just upgraded from V5 to 6.1 (finally) and I'm might impressed with the changes made so far. One feature that I was expecting to see, but can't, is the ability to link backup jobs. i.e. one jobs finishes and triggers another. I did this in V5 in the documented way (post job command) but it's not very user friendly to say the least.
Am I missing something?
Cheers
Steve

Re: Linking Jobs
No, you are correct. Your best solution is to use powershell, creating a single script that runs both jobs, or a script for running the second one and invoked by the first as post-job activity.

Re: Linking Jobs
Linking jobs will be available right in the user interface in the upcoming 6.5 release.

Re: Linking Jobs
Ah, I knew that but I did not wrote it because I was not sure about NDA, well since you wrote about it, so my new answer is "wait for 6.5"

Re: Linking Jobs
Thanks Luca, I guess you have passed the NDA test, haha!
Features that are unlikely to be dropped are fine to talk about. However, you just don't have this kind of information - so it is generally better to let us comment on futures for features that have not yet been officially announced.
Would hate to promote something, set the expectations and then see the feature dropped from the release (happens all the time).
