Re: Linux file-level restore error
Maudet, are you using Linux File Level Restore wizard to perform the restore?

You need to make sure the VMWare Player is installed on the machine you backing up and restoring from for the Linux file level restore stuff to work.
Also you don't Right Click the backup and hit restore guest files, that is for Windows only, go to Tools --> File Level Restore Wizard

Re: Linux file-level restore error
VMWare Player cannot be installed in a VM.
That means that Veeam Backup should not be installed in a VM ?

Re: Linux file-level restore error
If you want to do Linux file-level recoveries, it would be better to install Veeam Backup on physical computer.
Alternatively, there is a workaround that can be used to make VMware Player working inside VM, you can obtain it from our support. However, this workaround has certain drawbacks. It requires disabling VMware Tools on your Veeam Backup VM, so some VMware management apps will not be able to work with this VM correctly. But of course you can always rollback this change when necessary.
