LInux file level restore to alternate VM

Hi all,

We're using Backup and replication 9.5 with ESX 6.5 backing up many LInux VM's.

Can anyone tell me whats the process to do a file level recovery to a different VM than the one that the backup was taken
I see the options to download the files to my local workstation of go back to source (overwrite of keep the files) ...

Ideally I need this functionality via Enterprise Manager so the VM owners can then do the restores ?

Can anyone help...

Isn;t that using the management console ?

Our end users don;t have access to that, just Enterprise Manager. Is this possible with Enterprise Manager ?

You cannot restore Linux OS Files via Self-Service Portal - it's for Windows Guest OS only. Thanks.

I've tested restores via enteprise manager and i'm able to restore Linux files back to the original VM and specify to keep them (creates a folder with name.Keep_datetime) or to overwrite them, still can;t see a way of doing that to a different VM other than downloading them to the local workstation then uploading.

OK, since you mentioned restore delegation, I thought you were talking about Enterprise Manager Self-Service Portal.

Speaking about your request, you have to either

- download files to local workstation and pass then to target machine
- or connect to EM console from target machine and download files there (bypassing intermediate step)
