Linux FLR File Restore

Post by captainflannel »

We have several large linux virtual machines, 4-8TB. We use them for company CIFS/SMB file sharing. I'm trying to find any way to perform file level restores, keeping the original date/time filesystem attributes. Its critical for our restores to restore the file as it was backed up, not just copy the file out and have a new date/time modified timestamp. Does anyone have a work around, is FTP our only option, is VEEAM planning to have an option or checkbox when restoring from the FLR to also copy/preserve file attributes? that would be just so easy... Or can we somehow ssh into the FLR and just run a cp -R commnand?

You can run FLR Helper Appliance and do rsync to restore files. Just change FLR Helper appliance credentials in VEEAM "Manage credentials" section, so you can log in in to appliance.
