Linux server config files (aka "registry values")

Post by dm.bobylev »

Hello!
Previously Veeam support provided us with registry values for S3 gateway. Now we are going to use Linux server as S3 gateway and I need to apply the same settings there. KB4779 explains how to do it for Veeam Appliance but we are not using it, our server is just a regular Rocky Linux 9.7. I created the config file mentioned it the KB and added the values as we use them in the Windows host and then rebooted the server:

Code: Select all

# cat /etc/veeam/veeam_backup_and_replication.conf
[root]
ObjectStorageCRLCheckMode=3
ObjectStorageTlsRevocationCheck=0
ObjectStorageTlsRevocationCheckCrlEnabled=0
ObjectStorageTlsRevocationCheckOcspDirectEnabled=0
But it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone advice where should I create the config values on Linux servers please?

Hi dm.bobylev!

This should be on /etc/VeeamAgentConfig for self-managed linux servers, there's no structure to the files, and I think it's same format for the values (might be a space before / after the = sign though)

Hi David!
Thank you! We need to restart the Veeam services on the server to apply the values, right?

Happy to help, should be no need for a restart for some time (since v10 I think), each backup manager / agent process will check when it starts and utilize the parameter. So barring a parameter that is explicitly marked as needing a restart, should not be necessary.
