Hi,
I have a backup job of 20VMs that typically takes an hour to run. Back up files (per VM) are getting saved to an SMB share that is accessed by Tivoli Storage Manager TSM, which writes backup files to tape. Occasionally Veeam backup job would fail pointing to one or two files being locked by TMS. This does not happen often, but once in a blue moon Veeam would run a scheduled backup job while TMS is still copying files to tape. Is there something I can do about this? Maybe a Powershell script to check if the existing backup files are locked, then delay Veeam Job for an hour and try again, not even sure if it's possible but open to suggestions
Thanks

Re: locked backup files
Is there a reason you don't let Veeam handle writing the VM backup files to tape after they have been produced on disk?

Re: locked backup files
Tapes are managed by another team and they are using TSM software. There is only 1 job that Veeam writes to a folder accessible to TSM, but TSM manages many other tape jobs
