Looking for ideas for better backups

Hi all.

Currently I have a 12TB external NAS device holding our backup files at night. Every month I end up moving around .vib files to and from another storage device cause I fill up our primary. I know there are better ways, and wanted to get some ideas from others.

We are backing up a VMware cluster with 2 hosts and a bunch of servers (Backup size estimate: 6.0TB) . I set a 14 day retention on the files, but in a perfect world I'd like to get maybe 21 if possible. I think what is screwing me up is the 'full backup' that is done monthly.

Hi Eric, have you considered switching to forever incremental backup method?

Actually reading that page pointed something out to me that i was doing wrong:

Yes, in this case the job performs in forward incremental backups with periodic fulls, while in case of forever incremental there's just a single full with subsequent increments.
