Lost VMDK , VBK can't be opened...

Post by ecleppe »

Hi,

We lost a vmdk during a data move. It's the C drive of one of our servers.
We have a backup from before , but the machine had 4 drives. C / D / E / F
C drive backed up completely , but the backup failed because the other 3 drives were set in independent mode.
I have an inconsitent VBK file which must contain my C drive. Is there a way to recuperate this?

Here is the log file.

6 of 11 files processed

Total VM size: 650.00 GB
Processed size: 50.00 GB
Processing rate: 27 MB/s
Backup mode: SAN/NBD without changed block tracking
Start time: 6/19/2010 6:49:17 AM
End time: 6/19/2010 7:21:18 AM
Duration: 0:32:00

Enabling changed block tracking...
Changed block tracking cannot be enabled: virtual hardware version 7 or later required.

Hello Erik, it might be a possibility to recover the data you need, but this would require involving developers and using special tools to retrieve the data. So please open a support case to get this started.
