Manage Credentials and Application Groups
Hi everyone,
I've noticed that the "Manage Credentials" section at least in Veeam B&R 9.5 U4a does not detect the OS credentials used in Application Groups for SureBackup jobs.
By detecting, I mean you cannot delete credentials still used in a backup job but you can do so with credentials used in a SureBackup job, which can lead to minor annoyance.
Is there any reason such feature wasn't implemented ? If not, where can I send a suggestion for improvement ?
Thanks.
Captain

Re: Manage Credentials and Application Groups
Hello,
cannot confirm. If I add credentials in an application group they end up correctly in the credentials manager.
Note: what do you mean with "detected"? Since I know Veeam, all credentials I add somewhere in the wizards, they end up in credentials manager.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Manage Credentials and Application Groups
Thanks for the fast reply.
Yes, you're right, they all end up in the credentials manager (I hadn't test that case before).
However, if you try to delete a credential used in an Application Group, you won't get any warning.
If you do the same for a backup job, you''ll get a warning if you try to edit the information or to delete them.
Can you confirm this behavior ?
Kind regards,
Captain

Re: Manage Credentials and Application Groups
also in credentials manager: you only get a warning if the credentials are used in other jobs. If you create credentials that are not used anywhere, then you can just delete them. Which makes sense because obviously they are not used anywhere.
On the other hand a "are you sure you want to delete" might be a good idea, yes.
