[VHRISO] update to 12.3 failed

Post by chris.childerhose »

MOD: split from post532222.html#p532222

@HannesK—Is there a new ISO that offers a repair option now? I upgraded to 12.3, but the VHRs did not update properly using the single-use credentials due to SUDO permissions. I tried to edit the Grub menu, but that caused more problems. Now, I am locked out of one of the VHRs, but I can still log in to the other one but not get connected properly to VBR 12.3 to update.

Hello Chris,
the Repair option is still in development, which means it's untested by Veeam QA. On case-by-case basis we can decide to hand out a newer build with Repair option via Veeam support, but that is not generally available.

For other readers: the key information was provided to me via direct message... in this case, an older build (before 0.1.17) was used. For everything older 0.1.17, it is expected that upgrades fail.

Best regards
Hannes

Thanks for splitting this one out, Hannes. Yeah, I somehow used a previous release of the ISO instead of the latest one, 0.1.17, so that was my problem. I have since rebuilt the VHRs with the new one and will see what happens when the next update comes out.

@DaStivi - great to hear the new ISO works to update with the 12.3 release.
