Manually Removed .VBK file

If I manually move a VBK file, when veeam next runs will it know about the orphaned .VIB files and delee them too? i.e. will it clean up?

Hi Asif,

Backup files will be removed according to your retention policy settings. Manually deleting/removing full backup from your current backup chain will make your job fail.

Can you please tell me why do you need to run this operation? Do you need to do this to accomplish what you have discussed in this thread?

If the backup file is from the current full backup chain, the job will fail. If the backup file is from the previous full backup chain, orphaned VIB files will be cleaned up in due time, according to the retention policy set on the job.

Honestly, if you remove the VBK file, it's easier to remove at the same time also the linked VIB files, since they are useless without the VBK...
