Hi All,
We have the following setup:
*Veeam B&R with local repository containing 25TB of backups and 8 Backups jobs.
*Backup Copy Jobs to a Cloud Connect Service Provider where we pay per GB
We have a new server that will replace the B&R server and we are planning the migration. Due to some database corruption, we are starting from fresh. The backups will take longer than we can afford to copy even over 10GB so I was planning on just recreating everything and starting a new Local Backup Chains. I want to then recreate the BCJs but map the new jobs to the existing chain with our provider so we do not trigger new cloud fulls. I have done this before when we also copied the local chain and mapped.
My question is: If I start new local backup chains can I then map the BCJ jobs and carry on the chain without a Full Cloud backup being triggered?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Mapping BCJ and new local backup chain
Hi Matt
Yes, you can do that as long the ID/MoRefID of the source VM doesn't change.
The mapped Backup chain will continue (incremental, synthetic full).
Best,
Fabian
