Hello,
following the encryption best practices the encryption password must be at least 8 characters long.
Is there a maximum character limit for encryption passwords (Config Backup/Tape encryption/Backup encryption)?
We are generating our passwords and saving them externally so we could safely generate ridiculously long passwords.
I was not able to find any information about the maximum length. I am sorry if it is specified somewhere.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Maximum encryption password length
Hello and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!
Basically, I believe that 22 symbols in string is more than enough, for example you may refer to this post. If I'm not mistaken, 10 billions pass/per sec password generation speed allows you to brute-force (all possible combinations) 16-char password from 22-symbols alphabet in 10 000 years Not sure that it really makes sense to use maximal possible length.
Thanks!
