Hi,
i checked the md5sum from the ESXi Filesystem from a shutdown virtual machine. (the server is removed from inventory)
Then i delete files (.vmdk, .vmx. and flat-vmdk).
After the restore "VM Files" the md5sum is different.
The same occurs when i restore the server with the option "entire vm"
Why is that so?
regards

Re: md5 checksum (.vmx and .vmdk) different after restore
Hi Lukas,
Do you have any disk exclusions in the job for the backed up VMs? Independent disks?
Thanks!

Can you open VMX file with a notepad and compare the configuration lines?
