Re: Merge restore point chain
Merging of chains is not possible. Could you please maybe clarify a bit on what kind of task are you trying to perform so we could advise on possible ways of addressing your needs? Thanks!

Re: Merge restore point chain
Due to backup encryption key missing we had plan to retain Veeam 10 server & its repository by shutting them down and upon request power and restore data from GFS restore points. so we have disabled jobs on Veeam 10 and configured new Veeam B&R 11 with Enterprise manger servers with almost same job names and started backups.
But today we have found encryption key and we want to merge restore point chain with new server restore point chain.
On New Veeam server backups are running since 08/11/2022
What do you suggest on this scenario?

Re: Merge restore point chain
Stick to the original plan and gradually decommission the previous backup server. Another option would be to export GFS restore points, setting the required retention period and import the exported points to the new backup server. Thanks!

Re: Merge restore point chain
I am planning to perform below steps, kindly share your thoughts
1 > Attach old performance tier extent to new Veeam server as a performance tier
2 > Seal newly added performance tier on new Veeam server
3> Export GFS restore points so it will be automatically placed to exiting performance tier on New Veeam server.
