Merging Backups?
I have a backup job that contains backups in the old style 7 days 4 weeks, 12 Months type style.
At some time the job have been removed and another created that does the same thing. So that now when I try to restore both "jobs" are shown as the location of the backups but the older backups actually show as imported in the GUI.
My issue is that the SOBR doesn't see these backups as targets for offload, and now the repository is out of space.
Any ideas on how to "merge" these backups together so I can offload the old ones and expire the ones that need to be expired.
I have a case #02053250, but we're not really getting anywhere.

Hi Jeff, you cannot 'merge' different chains into a single one. I'm also not sure if SOBR offload picks it up if you create a 'dummy' job, map it to the older chain, and point to the same SOBR - need to check.
(The number doesn't look like the correct case ID, btw, likely it is your customer support contract ID.)

You maybe right. Possibly #04698833
When you say chain do you mean incrementals. All the backups I want to include from the old are fulls.

By the chain, I mean any set of backup files containing the initial full and (possibly) subsequent increments. The 'dummy' job workaround should help to offload those as they will be considered inactive backup chains.

Re: Merging Backups?
Does the name need to match?
I assume I just create a backup job with the same retention policy and the same servers, and map to the imported target?
Do I disable it or just not schedule it?

You can just leave it without a schedule, the name doesn't matter.
