Messing with credentials can give "Client error: NFC server"

Post by fcambot »

Earlier this week i decided to "merge" all jobs on a x64 server, and to use my other "old" server as a mere repository.
During the process, i cleaned up credentials.
And next day i add failed jobs with :
Error: Client error: NFC server [my_shiny_esxi_host is busy. Failed to retrieve next FILE_PUT message. File path: [[DataStore] myvm/myvm.vmx]. File pointer: [0]. File size: [3545].
Removing proxies located on the host and reinstallling them corrected things.

I realised it had to be this when i saw that jobs performed with proxies other than those on the host worked.
In the process i made a comple new installation of vbr, with the 2008R2 64 bits sql database, so i've not wasted my time ;).

Could you please tell me how you removed the proxies from the host?
I have a similar problem and want to perform this action.

thanks!

Ronald, have you tried removing the proxy server using your backup console?

As said vitaly, i removed proxies using backup console.

If proxies still don't work, try to connect directly to the vsphere host. I you can't, just check ssh services on it through vcenter. I had to do this too, and i've never been worried after.

[MERGED] NFC Server [Servername] is busy

Post by mnario »

Support or Anyone,

Getting the following message on one of hosts connected through the Vcenter 5.5 build 3721164 (Update 3d)
10.1.1.10 - ESXi 5.0 is getting server is busy message on all the VMs I try to back up on, but if I move it to a different host it works fine. The Datastore remains the same [EMCDS1]..

Example:
5/13/2016 1:32:06 PM :: Processing 'SCSWEB' Error: Client error: NFC server [10.1.1.10] is busy.
Failed to retrieve next FILE_PUT message. File path: [[EMCDS1] SCSWEB/SCSWEB.vmx]. File pointer: [0]. File size: [3775].

I have checked Permissions with the server directly and have been able to download files from the Datastore through the .10 server but Veeam is not able to backup the VMs.. This was working just until 3 days ago.
Any Help would be really appreciated, since I have looked around on Google and none of the fixes have fixed my issues.

I have already removed the proxy server from the Host where it is backing to and added back on, Installed the VM Client on the host as well and was able to copy files off of the host and datastore.

[MERGED] NFS server is busy

Post by AutoPS »

I want to restore a virtuele machine to a esxi host (cluster). The restore is failed with this error message:
NFC server [esx03) is busy

To solve the problem, i have try this:
- Restart the backup server
- Restart the server where the backup is
- Remove / add the backup proxy on the backup server
- Remove the snapshots of the Vcenter
- Disabled IDP on the router
- Change the NFS client ip on the esxi hosts

Also i have try different datastores and esxi hosts.

Hello Foggy,

I have contact the technical support, the time to solve the problem is a long time.

Besides. i have a update for the problem.
When i restore a virtuele machine to the SAN HP P2000 the restore is success.
When i restore a virtuele machine to the SAN HP2041 the restore is failed.

so far as i can see, the only different between this datastore is the File systems.

I have give the back-up server more cpu, from 1(socket)/2(Cores) to 2(sockets) / 2(cores).
After the change;
- First restore is success
- Second is failed

Now i have change Transport mode from Automatic Selection to network.
Maybe that will help

No, that also don't solve the problem.
The VmWare support team has found a issue with the connection to the datastore.

Is this something to be addressed on VMware side?
