Migrate veeam to new server and version

Hi everyone,
before migrate veeam to new server both source and destination server must run on the same Veeam B&R version? I have to rebuild new server and upgrade veeam 8 to latest version.

Please have a look at this checklist:

Check the version of the backup server. On the backup server running Veeam Backup & Replication 11, you can restore configuration backups created with the following product versions: 10 and 9.5 Update 4b.

I'd recommend you to upgrade Veeam to the most recent version on the source server and perform migration afterwards. The instructions for upgrade can be found here.

Unfortunately upgrade from v8 directly to v11 is not supported. You can sequentially install multiple upgrades one by one:

0. Make sure that you have Update 3 installed on top of your v8 B&R
1. Upgrade v8 to v9.5 Upgrading to Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5
2. Upgrade v9.5 to Update 4 Upgrading to Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 4
3. Upgrade 9.5 U4 to v11a

Honestly, if the job configuration is simple, I'd recommend to go with brand new v11a deployment, then re-create all the jobs and import existing backups to v11a. Thanks!
