Minimu specs requirements
Hi,
We need to back up at least 200 laptop on witch VEB is installed to a virtual VBR 2008 server.
Can you tell me the minimum required specs of the server to use in the goal to make the backup speedy.
FYI: at least 14 GB of data will be saved from each laptop
best regards

Hi Jacky,
Backup job performance depends on the bottleneck statistics, for example, if network connection is slow, then beefing up your backup server will not help. Do you plan to point all 200 VEB backup jobs to the same repository? How many concurrent jobs do you plan to run at a time?
Thanks!

FYI: there will not be 14 GB saved daily on each laptop due to the fact that the backup will be incremental

Yes, limiting concurrent tasks would make sense. In your case the most load would be on the storage hardware (IOPs), so you can size your backup repository in accordance with our recommended values in the release notes document and then monitor job bottlenecks for further improvements.

That's a maximum amount per task, in your case it should take less. I would recommend to start a couple of jobs and check out memory consumption and then increase the RAM configuration accordingly.
