minor v5 install problem

Post by cryptonym »

Not a show stopper, but on the v5 install, it checks for CPU count. I have a HP DL385G2 with 2 dual core CPU (AMD). It warns that the machine does not have 4 cores, but it does. Windows task manager shows 4 graphs, and the product seems to fully utilize them, but it does popup a nag at install. Fortunately, Veeam allows install to continue after the nag is cleared.

The CPU's are AMD Dual Core Opteron 2220's. 2.8GHz, 4 cores.

Hi Warren, would you be able to launch a test tool and provide us its output (unless devs can see the problem right away from the code)? We could not test all possible hardware configurations, so it looks like detection algorithm does not work properly in some scenarios.

Yes, send me the link or file and I can run it. It is non-destructive, correct?

Looks like one of those question you just cannot answer NO to ;)

The tool does not exist yet, if we cannot figure out the issue ourselves I will ask devs to create. It will do the same CPU check as setup currently does, just with more logging. The operation is read-only, just about querying CPU parameters. If that is okay, I will ask our support to reach you on your forum registration email if needed when the tool is ready.
