Missing Folders After Veeam Restore

A file share was restored to our cloud server using Veeam Backup and Replication 6.5. The server is running Server 2008 R2. After the restore, several folders appeared to be missing. When I attempted to create the folders, I am told the folder already exist. I've turned on "Display hidden files and folders" in Folder Options, even though I don't believe these folders are hidden. I've tried merging the folders, but they never show up.

How can I get these folders to show up, if they really exist? Alternatively, how can I recreate them?

Valerie, what tool do you use to observe the folder structure? Have you tried using dir command to list the share contents?

I am able to use command prompt to change to the folder, but am not able to view it in the directory structure when using the "dir" command.

Valerie, have you tried to restore the missing folders again, overwriting the hidden ones? Thanks.

Looks like a file system issue, worth checking the disk.

Btw, what type of restore it was? Restore to original location or to some other server? What is the file system on the source server then?

It was a file level restore to the original location. The file system is NTFS. And I have tried overwriting the hidden files.

Is it only backup server reporting that those folders exist or Windows Explorer also suggests the same if, say, you try to copy a "dummy" folder with the identical name to the given location? Thanks.
