Missing Restore Option VM Files

Hi

After upgrading from 10 to 11, I am missing an important restore option "VM files (VMDK, VMX)" in the Restore Options. See print screen.



I noticed this during restore tests. I restore a VBK file from a tape to the hard disk. Afterwards I start Veeam with a double click on the file. When restoring, I could always select this option before the update. Now it has disappeared. The backup server is stored at "Backup infrastructur".

Can anyone confirm that this option is gone on all installations and is not a problem of mine? I am not sure if it is an error or technical problem. It could be that for some reason this option was removed and I missed the information.

I use a Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise license

Hi Tom,

Can you try to run the restore wizard from the Home tab as it's described on this page? Does it work?

Thanks, that works! I will do some more tests, but I think I can adjust our procedure.

..too bad the option is gone, I lost quite a bit of time. From Microsoft I am familiar with such hidden changes, from Veeam not at all.

That dropdown menu is totally off the line and has an unintended change for sure.
Will discuss with devs to fix it.
