Move B&R from 32bit installation to 64 bit

Post by fabioloc »

Hi guys,
i have this scenario.
A - VM with Windows 7 professional 32bit and Veeam B&R 6.5.0.106 32bit
B - Now i'd installed a new VM with Windows 7 Professional 64bit, where i would like to have, at the end, Veeam B&R 9.5 update2.

Is there a possibility to migrate Veeam database and configuration from point A to point B ?

I googled, but my scenario is not so present in the articles that i found.
I understand that configuration backup and restore is the way, but i don't understand if the 32/64 bit can be a problem.
And if i need to start to install (on the new VM) the same version of VeeamB&R (6.5 32bit OR 64bit???)

Thank you very much!

Fabio.

Personally my advice is that it would be easier to install a fresh server as you will need to first install 6.5 in 64bit on the server, then upgrade to 7 update 4 then to 9 and 9.5. We don't provide the installation isos anymore for 6.5 and 7 however via our website.

Our support team should have old .iso. Might be worth reaching them. Thanks.
