Move backup data to another environment

Post by trackstar »

Hello,

We are on version 12.1. Lets say I have a job called "Test AD" with a few restore points. I copied the entire directory of the job and moved them into a test environment in which I used import backup. Then from the Backups --> Disk (Import), I choose the restore point. Is the the correct procedure?

Been getting a "Failed to decompress LZ4 block: Bad crc..."

The error indicates that you might have corrupted backup files. Either something went wrong during the copy process or your source files already have issues.
Are you able to restore form the same backup files in your primary environment?

Haven't tried. I was able to perform the instant recovery but when I tried to migrate to production it failed.

During Instant Recovery only a part of the backup file is read. As soon as you migrate to production all other blocks are processed and then we might see some corruption.
Besides checking your source environment, you could copy your backup file(s) again to the test environment and/or use the Validator to check it's health: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

Also make sure you have the health checks configured in your backup jobs: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
