Moving B&R to new server; disk letters

Post by JamesMcG »

I'm migrating Veeam to a new server right now. I'm going from multiple iSCSI disks (3) as my repo targets, to one large JBOD with one disk letter. The KB mentions assigning the same drive letters, but I'm stuck on what to do there. Other than using something to mount the folders as letters is there a way to adjust this?

Hi James,
- on new server, create blank drives(Disk Management - Action - Ceate VHD) with same letters used at source for configuration restore to pass(for example, source had F:\(iscsi) G:\(iscsi) H:\(iscsi), target now has D:\(jbod) F:\(fake) G:\(fake) H:\(fake)).
- Run Configuration restore, all jobs will target same repositories as before
- Shift backup files between repositories to a new one via https://www.veeam.com/kb1729
/Cheers!
