I am moving Veeam B&R to a new server and I have question about mapping. These are the steps I took.
1, Set up new B&R server
2. Migrated the database from the old server to the new one.
3. Copied over all the backups
4. Ran a rescan - everything looked good.
5. Map the Backups. When I do this, I get a message that says -
"The selected backup is already in use by the following job: XXXXXXX. Do you want to map it to this job instead?"
Since I'm not sure what the mapping is supposed to do, I'm not sure how to answer this. If it maters, both the old and the new server were using the Default Repository as set up by the Veeam installation.
Thanks for any help

Re: Moving B&R to new server
Hello Chipman491,
If the configuration was restored (or if you migrated the DB) manual mapping is not required. Backup chains should be continued due to configuration being preserved. To test this try to run the smallest vm backup job and the job run should be incremental. Cheers!

Re: Moving B&R to new server
Dima,
Thanks for the reply. That is what I assumed would happen, but I rather be safe than sorry.
Best Regards.
