Moving Backup - All other Jobs pending
Hi, while i´m moving a backup to another repository.
All other jobs (using the original repository) are stuck in "Pending".
-> Resoure not ready: backup repository
Is this a normal behaviour?

Re: Moving Backup - All other Jobs pending
Hi Damian
Moving backups to other repositories will use available task slots. You can adjust the concurrent tasks in the properties of your repositories.

Please note, we recommend a task allocation of 2 tasks per CPU core and 1GB RAM per task.
Best,
Fabian

I have configured 10 tasks on the source and destination repository.
How much tasks does the move task use?

Re: Moving Backup - All other Jobs pending
Hi dbaages
Yes, it is normal that they remain pending, what type of repository is the origin and destination? If it is a DDomain, for example, you can add more threads, you can also activate HIGH PRIORITY in the backups so that they have priority over the movement.
Regards.

Re: Moving Backup - All other Jobs pending
Hi, thanks for the advice. But the Move Job ist currently occupying all task. Even High Prio Jobs will not take away tasks from the running job.
Why are all 10 tasks on the repository used, when the Move Job only contains 6 VMs?

I would like to give a suggestion for maybe a future release.Mildur wrote: ↑Mar 25, 2024 8:27 am Hi Damian

When moving a backup to another repository, the job occupies all free task asap. Other jobs on that server will be delayed until the Move-Jop is finished.
I suggest a dialog where one can limit the tasks the Move-Job is using, so the normal backup routine is not on full hold.
What are your thoughts on this?
