Moving Local Backups to a new repository

Post by elecdave »

I want to move our local backups to a new local repository. I found https://www.veeam.com/kb1729 that explains the process, and it seems quite simple. However, the KB doesn't explain the affects of the backup copy job that runs after the local backup job. Also, should I put both jobs on hold once I am ready to migrate to the new repository? I have 9.5TB of data to move across a 1GB LAN connection, and I anticipate the move to take over a day. Any thoughts?

Hello,
I moved your post to the common VBR forum.

Yes, to avoid error messages, you should stop all jobs during migration.

Best regards,

It depends on how you've added source objects to the backup copy jobs. If you've specified particular jobs/VMs, it should continue normally. If you used repositories as a source, make sure the new repository is selected.
