Moving SOBR existing ReFS to new XFS repo in v12
We had 3x ReFS extents in a SOBR - consolidated that to 2x ReFS extents and it worked great. During the move of ~1800 backup files it would say 'fast clone' and all the block cloning/space saving remained. Yay!
Now we're moving all the remaining 2x ReFS to a single brand new XFS repo and wondering if I can expect the same block cloning/space savings.
The new XFS repo is ~220TB and we have ~440TB of backup files (only physically using 75TB!) so hoping not to start over with new chains locally and in our Wasabi capacity tier.

Yes if you move them with v12, you will still see the block clone savings going from ReFS to XFS.

Woo hoo! Excited to see that. Since I am moving from ReFS to XFS and going to start setting the immutable flag.....that will only apply to new backup/restore points, correct?

I believe once you set the Immutable flag, yes it applies to only new backups created.

Just to clarify; that is with putting the old repos in maintenance mode, then evacuating the backups, correct?

Either that or using the Move Backup option from ReFS to XFS. If they are both part of a SOBR, you can do the evacuate part as well. Either option will work.
