We're migrating our ESXi environment from 5.5 to 6.7. We're using the same SAN, so currently to migrate our VMs we're simply turning them off, removing them from inventory in 5.5, and adding them in 6.7, and turning them back on. However, this requires the VM be removed from backup and added back in from 6.7, which forces Veeam to create a new backup of the VM.
Is there any way to migrate the VMs from 5.5 to 6.7 and maintain continuity in Veeam and maintain the CBT?

Re: Moving VMs from 5.5 to 6.7
You should either perform an in-place upgrade or use VMware migration tools that preserve VM IDs.
