Mutli site backup to cloud

Post by deesloop »

We have 3 sites

Site is main server room. Veeam Proxy in here
Site 2 is DR location - connected to site with 1Gb fibre - Veam server lives here
Site 3 satellite office - veam proxy & Wan accelerator here.

Veeam is currently backing up site 1 to site 2 - replicas and a backup
It's also backing up site 1 to the cloud

I've configured a job for site 1 to backup site 3 to the cloud but it continually fails.

Getting VM info from vSphere
Error: Failed to connect to the port [213.48.152.81:6180].

Can someone advise what is trying to access that IP?
Is it the server being backed up on site 3 or is it the Veeam Proxy & wan on site 3

Or is it the Veam server on site 2?

I have no issues witht he backup of site 1 to the cloud.

Site 3 i slinked to site 1 (and 2) via a site to site IPSEC vpn and all traffic
destianteed out of site 3 has to go thru site 1 - mail/web etc.

Any advise greatfully received

Thanks

Darren, all the ports required for Veeam B&R Cloud Connect operation are listed in the corresponding user guide section.

Thanks for the list of ports.

Could you clarify what is trying to contact the ip address?
Is it
  • The server being backed up at Site 3 ?
  • The main veeam server on site 2 ?
  • Or the proxy/wan accelerator at site 2?
Thanks

Hello Darren,
The port is used by multiple components, but in your case looks like when the error appeared it was used by backup proxy and cloud gateway.
I would contact technical support for detailed issue investigation.
Thanks!
