my replicated vm is used as a proxy

Post by Fegume »

Hello.

I have one stranger issue.

I have replicate job with the veeam server to different esx inside same cluster.

When run my backup Jobs I view that hard disk attach is on the VM_Recplicate (vm off) then my RTO is high because do failover to network backup.

Why use the VM_replicate as proxy and not the VM (veeam server Online)?

The versión is the las V11.

Thanks!

Not sure I fully understand what is happening - the switched-off VM cannot be used as a proxy. If you see this, please contact technical support for a closer look. Is it the Veeam backup server VM itself that is being replicated?

I try explain again.

I have only Veeam server(VM_Veeam) with all roles (Proxy, mount, gateway....)

1. Run Replicate Job VM Veeam server
2. Finished replicate job
3. Now I have VM live (VM_Veeam) and VM replicate off (VM_Veeam_Replicate)
4. Run Backup Jobs
5. The hards disk (Virtual machines of Job backup) attach for backup is on VM_Veeam_Replicate not to VM_Veeam.
6. about 1hour after run backup by network

It's very stranger that use the VM_Veeam_Replica as proxy, when is down and is replica of VM_Veeam.

I hope my explanation is clearer.

Thanks

Understood, thank you. I would still recommend to investigate this with our technical support as the behavior is totally unexpected. Might be some awkward VM ID conflict or something like that.
