Hello Folks,
following situation here:
Site A:
Veeam B&R Server
Backup-Repository A
IP Subnet: 10.73.69.x
Site B:
Backup-Repository B
IP Subnet: 192.168.101.x
Both sites are directly connected by a 100 Mbit/s connection (no WAN).
I created a Network Traffic Rule with the following options:
Source IP Range:
10.73.69.1-10.73.69.255
Target IP Range:
192.168.101.1-192.168.101.255
Throttle network traffic to:
5 MB/s
Active from 6 a.m to 6 p.m.
My Backup Copy Job still utilize the full ~13 MB/s. Why is my Rule ignored by the Backup Copy Job?
Best Regards

Re: Network Traffic Rule won't work
Network traffic rules work only between pair of Data Movers.
I'm wondering what kind of repositories you have. Isn't the second one a network share or dedupe appliance by any chance? Such repositories cannot host Veeam Data Movers and requires a gateway server for that. If so, what is specified as gateway for this repository? Backup server?
Thanks!

Re: Network Traffic Rule won't work
Yes, it is a (QNAP) NAS with a network share. So the best option would be a Proxy for this site to apply the network traffic rules?
The Gateway for the repository is the Firewall on site A

Re: Network Traffic Rule won't work
In this case the best option will be to have a gateway server a site B.
