New Feature Required - Exchange Mailbox Restore Missing “Purges” Folder
Hello,
Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange does not display the “Purges” folder.
When a user purges their emails in exchange the permanently deleted emails are moved to the purges folder in the user’s mailbox which is hidden from then end-user.
If I restore an EDB file with Veeam backup and view it with “Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange” I do not see the Purges folder.
If I view the same EDB with a 3rd part tool called systools (https://www.systoolsgroup.com/exchange-edb-viewer.html) I am able to view the Purges folder and export the deleted emails.
In my scenario we need to be able to restore these emails for pending lawsuits going back 2 years.
Please let me know if you can add this feature to the Veeam Explorer for Microsoft exchange.

Has this feature been included in VBO 365? I have a customer asking the exact same question.

Hi Doug,
With VBO, you can back up Deleted folders, In-Place Hold Items, and Litigation Hold Items, and the Permanently Deleted Items folder can be accessed via Explorer for Exchange. Is this what you're looking for?

Yeah, I am pretty sure I remember us adding this to Veeam Explorer for Exchange a few release back. So it should be available both for VBO365 and on-prem Exchange backups made by VBR.
