New Jobs restart after (VIB/VBK lost) Backup tap question
Hello,
I've lost all of my VIB's, VBK's due target drive corruption. We estbished the target drives as blank and restarted all backup jobs. Everything runs fine now. My question, Under the Backup and Replication > Backups tap, I see teh backup jobs which list the previouse restore points. Should I clear all of them? should I leave them just like they are? All backup jobs just got restarted on the 15th, so I start from scratch.
Thanks

Hi, yes - feel free to clear them to clean up the configuration database from backup files which are lost, so they do not appear in restore wizards and such. Thanks!

Re: New Jobs restart after (VIB/VBK lost) Backup tap questio
Hello,
I;ve I go Backup and Replication > Backups > right click job > delete from disk, wouldn't this remove all restor point including the new ones after the crash? That means the last 2days of backups (VBK and the VIB's) would been lost correct?
If I just leave it, will after it has the restore points back as backups (VBK's, VIB's) simple remove the old data and replace it with the new data restore points? so that it always has the latest 18 restorepoints (or whatever setting I have set) in the database.

If you did not create the new jobs and used the old ones, then yet it will delete all restore points. So in that case, better to just leave everything as it is. Thanks!

Yes, the job should remove those restore points automatically eventually.
