When upgrading from Veeam 10 to Veeam 11, the list of ports required on a Linux server changes.
From https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/ba ... onnections
to https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... onnections
Specifically it now needs port 6162, which was not needed before. But, in the version 11 documention it says "You can specify a different port while adding the Linux server to the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure. Note that you can specify a different port only if there is no previously installed Veeam Data Mover on this Linux server. For more information, see Specify Credentials and SSH Settings."
But, this is an upgrade, I guess we just add a new port to the firewall rules without choosing it.

Re: New port needed when upgrading (Port 6162)
Hello,
yes, that's correct. Re-designed the Linux repository for performance reasons and to create the "Hardened Repository".
I recommend keeping the default ports, as it makes troubleshooting and support cases much easier.
In V10, there is no "previously installed Data Mover". The data mover in V10 was deployed on-demand during each activity (backup, backup copy job etc.)
Best regards,
Hannes
