New user - Slow network backup 2mb/s
For testing I have a poweredge t310 with single quad core 2.4ghz xeon and 4 gigs of ram. I installed the latest esxi and two windows server 2008 64bit R2 vm's. One vm is running vsphere the other is running veeam which I just installed so it should be the latest. Using veeam, I'm backing up the vsphere server to a Windows 7 workstation which has raid storage. The backup is going really slow at 2m/s. The server and the workstation are on a gigabit connection. Any idea why it's so slow?

Re: New user - Slow network backup 2mb/s
Hello,
Slow network backup is a known issue for VMware ESX(i) 4 servers and has already been fixed by applying this patch: Network backup slow on vSphere ESX 4.0
Also it would be interesting to know what are the performance rates when you try to download any file from the source datastore using vSphere client -> Datastore browser and point it to the same target (Windows 7 machine)?
Thank you!
