No "all" setting for SureBackup

Post by DanielJ »

I have just started to use SureBackup now that it has a simple mode which only verifies the backup files. I want to randomly check 10 backups each day. So I click around for the setting that will select 10 backups from all available backups, but it seems that it can only select from a list of included jobs - so that each time someone creates a new job we have to remember to include it in the SureBackup job. It seems very likely that this will often be forgotten. So the feature request of today is: give us a radio button to select between "All backups" or a list of jobs/backups.

Hello,
hmm, it feels like the risks of "all backups" is higher than the benefit. Just assume one would test things over low bandwidth connections accidentally.

I don't know how you create backup jobs and whether using larger backup jobs instead could be an option to reduce the chances of forgetting something. As alternative, I could imagine to have a PowerShell script that checks the existing backup jobs vs. sure backup job settings and puts them in once a day with a scheduled task.

Best regards

If someone has a mix of backup jobs where some of them are on slow connections, then one would assume that they would not use the "all" setting, and instead edit the job list manually.
