Not sure if this has been posted yet... DAS vs. NFS

Post by linux4guru »

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with DAS vs. NFS for backup? Currently, I have a ssh connection from Veeam Backup & Replication to my NFS exports server. All my backup are via the network at the moment.

I assume we have better performance if we are to use DAS right?

thanks,

thomas

Hi, sure thing DAS will be faster (because of no network latency talking to the backup storage). Thanks.

Cool...! I will look into a beefy storage system and I think Veeam will require some (a lot of memory) for resources during backup right?

Lots of CPU, and very little memory.
